This regulation has been in force since 2000 however it is only recently that the Building Inspectorate in England and Wales have started enforcing the requirements.
In the past it was sufficient to comply with the 150 litres per person per day requirement of this regulation however also built into the regulation is the requirement to comply with BSEN12050 - the British and European Standard for Pumping Stations.
No longer is a 'wheelie bin' with a pump in the bottom or a Glass Reinforced Polyester tank sufficient to satisfy the Building Inspector!
Pumps are also under the spotlight, they too also have to be of the correct sizing!
